Construction of Rockwell District in Ohio, a three-phase US$ 300M mixed-use project has begun. The project is situated in the Whitehall neighborhood of Columbus, at the intersection of East Broad Street and North Hamilton Road.
Rockwell District in Ohio is developed by N R Investments. The Central Ohio Community Improvement Corp., the City of Whitehall, and other partners are also working toward the success of the 50-acre project. These partners include Duany Plater-Zyberk, M + A Architects, Ruscilli Construction Co., and EMH&T.
The City of Whitehall received a $4.2 million grant from the Ohio Department of Development in January to demolish the site. This includes any residual buildings and outdated subsurface equipment.
Expectations of the project for the construction of Rockwell District in Ohio
According to the development team, this project is anticipated to have a $4.7 billion overall economic impact on the area. In addition, it will also provide over 3,000 construction jobs and 1,000 permanent jobs to Whitehall.

When finished Rockwell District in Ohio will have 1,000 residential units, and 250,000 square feet of Class A office space. Additionally, there will be 75,000 square feet of retail and dining space. The residential portion of the Rockwell District in Ohio will offer a mix of for-sale and for-rent units. 20 percent of which will be dedicated to workforce housing.
The development will be fully integrated with the adjacent Whitehall Community Park, an 80-acre nature park with access to Big Walnut Creek, walking paths, and sports fields. Phase I is scheduled for completion in 2025. |
