Vedanta Aluminium has entered into a long-term pact with Dalmia Cement for the supply of industrial wastes, including fly ash and spent pot lining, which will facilitate the manufacture of low-carbon cement.
As per the agreed terms, Vedanta will supply around 20 rakes of fly ash every month for five years to Dalmia Cements manufacturing units in Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Meghalaya, and Assam, and spent pot lining (SPL) for three years to the companys plant at Rajgangpur, Odisha.
Vedanta will manage the delivery from its mega aluminium smelter at Jharsuguda, Odisha. The industrial collaboration will bring enhanced quality, sustainability and cost benefits to cement manufacturing operations, and thus facilitate waste management.
Vedanta Aluminium is a preferred supplier of high-quality fly ash to cement producers in the country, and is actively pursuing the ‘waste-to-wealth’ initiatives to establish value-chains wherein by-products can be productively utilised into resources for complementary industries. |
