The Ministry of Public Works, through National Roads, today signed the contract to begin next April the recovery and maintenance work on National Route 12, corresponding to Mesh 513C, between the town of General Galarza and the intersection with National Route 131 and Provincial Route 32. The intervention includes 127 kilometers that are developed between Km 274.22 and Km 401.48 of RN 12.
The execution of the work, which foresees an investment of $9,932 million financed by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), will be in charge of the Temporary Business Union (UTE) made up of José Eleuterio Pitón SA and Lemiro Pablo Pietroboni SA The project includes an execution period of six years, of which the first two correspond to the recovery stage and the last four to the maintenance stage.
In this context, the general administrator of the National Highway Administration, Gustavo Arrieta, stated that "we continue to advance in the province of Entre Ríos with works that provide better traffic conditions and road safety, and that benefit regional economies by promoting development, generation of employment and connectivity”. In its passage through the province of Entre Ríos, RN 12 crosses its productive heart and directly impacts the distribution of its regional economies at the national level. In addition, it is characterized by the movement of cargo transport from the ports of Buenos Aires, agricultural-livestock production from Entre Ríos and Corrientes, and tea, yerba mate and wood from Misiones. At a tourist level, the route is used to visit destinations such as the city of Paraná, the Esteros del Iberá, the city of Posadas and the Iguazú Falls. |
