Trina Solar claims that its new TOPCon solar panel combines a double glass design with n-type technology. Its efficiency ranges from 20.8% to 22.3% and the power output ranges from 415W to 445W. Trina Solar has introduced a new series of Vertex S+ solar modules based on n-type tunnel oxide passivated contact (TOPcon) technology at Genera in Madrid, Spain. “The new series of modules is suitable for both residential and C&I applications,” Michael Katz, company spokesman, told pv magazine . The novelty of the new product consists in combining the double glass design with the n-type technology. The company offers the panel in two versions: a single-sided module with a white backsheet and a two-sided product with a clear backsheet. “The monofacial NEG9R.28 comes with a white rear encapsulant for maximum power output, with a power of up to 445 Wp and an efficiency of 22.3%,” the manufacturer states. “In contrast, the transparent NEG9RC.27 is the preferred choice for high-end aesthetic applications, for example on residential rooftops, where the assembly would disappear optically. This bifacial module has a front power of 435 Wp, with an efficiency of 21.8%”. Trina Solar offers five versions of the NEG9R.28 products, with powers ranging from 425W to 445W and power conversion efficiencies ranging from 21.3% to 22.3%. Its open circuit voltage ranges from 50.9 V to 52.6 V and short circuit current from 10.56 A to 10.71 A. The panels measure 1,762 mm x 1,134 mm x 30 mm and weigh 21.1 kg. The NEG9RC.27 modules are available in five versions with a power between 415 W and 435 W and an efficiency ranging from 20.8% to 21.8%. Its open circuit voltage ranges from 50.1 V to 51.8 V and short circuit current from 10.50 A to 10.64 A. They measure 1,762 mm x 1,134 mm x 30 mm and weigh 21.1 kg. The products can be used with a maximum system voltage of 1,500V and are built with IP 68 enclosures. They have a temperature coefficient of -0.30% per C and an operating temperature ranging from -40C to 85ºC. The panels have a 25-year product guarantee and a 30-year performance guarantee. Degradation in the first year is supposed to be 1.0% and final power at 30 years is guaranteed to be no less than 87.4% of nominal output power. Both types have a surface area of ??just under two square meters and a black aluminum frame, says the manufacturer. “When it comes to installation, the Vertex S+ is highly compatible with other BOS components,” explained Trina Solar.
