Work Detail | Cooper Standard Automotive Inc. celebrated the opening of its new India headquarters and technical center in Pune on Aug. 26. The facility—relocated from its previous location about 900 miles north in Sahibabad, India—employs about 40 at a 6,000-sq.-ft. facility and designs sealing components as well as fuel and brake delivery products. The firm did not disclose investment details. It now operates 32 facilities in the Asia-Pacific region, 11 in India, 13 in China, five in Korea, two in Japan and one in Thailand. “Today’s opening of our new India headquarters in Pune is another milestone in Cooper Standard’s profitable growth strategy,” Chairman and CEO Jeffrey Edwards said in a statement. “India is a key region in the automotive market, and this new facility enables us to better serve both our global customers in the region as well as customers in the rapidly growing local market.” Headquartered in Novi, Mich., Cooper Standard is a global automotive supplier of rubber and plastic sealing, fuel and brake lines, fluid transfer hoses, and anti-vibration systems. It employs about 30,000 people with operations in 20 counties. |
