Work Detail The expiry of the agreement between SA and the US to supply nuclear fuel to Koeberg Nuclear Power Station should in no way jeopardise the planned maintenance of Unit 1, says Chief Nuclear Officer Keith Featherstone. Speaking at a press briefing for an update on Eskoms current system challenges, Featherstone explained that the expiry of the agreement between the South African and US governments resulted in the US nuclear regulator withdrawing generic authorisation for Westinghouse to export fuel-assembly components to Koeberg Nuclear Power Station. "That gives us a little cause for concern. We maintain two independent fuel vendors. What weve done is run Unit 1 on Westinghouse and Unit 2 on Framatome. That is not impacted," said Featherstone. The fuel from Westinghouse comes with some components sou reed from the US, which is where the concern started-
