Work Detail |
This is the construction of the fourth module of the sewage treatment plant.
It was learned that C&E Construcciones SA was awarded the construction of the fourth module of the sewage treatment plant. The company will have 20 months to complete the work that will allow all of Rafaela to access the sewage service
On September 28, 2021, the envelopes had been opened, in the Green Room of the Municipality of Rafaela, with the presence of authorities from ENHOSA (National Entity for Water Sanitation Works) who are the ones who will provide the funds. At that time, C&E Construcciones SA had submitted an offer of $796,157,413.77, which was higher than the 690 million pesos that the official budget had. In fact, it was higher than those presented by the other three firms: COCYAR SA ($773,759,714.50), Riva SAIICFA ($683,999,999.99) and Werk Constructora SRL ($737,854,172.01). According to Diario Castellanos, it was the winning company and that now, it will have a period of 20 months to finish the work.

Once the construction of the expansion is completed, it will allow all the neighborhoods in the south of the city (such as those of the recent call that includes Brigadier López, 17 de Octubre, Pablo Pizzurno and La Cañada) have direct access to the home connection. But it also enables the need to face another challenge as a city: the construction of a large collector, which allows all the neighborhoods in the north of Rafaela, which today do not have sewer service, to have it. This trunk pipe also implies a large investment.
The detail of the work
The tender is carried out by the National Entity of Water Works and Sanitation (Enohsa) based on a project carried out by Aguas Santafesinas, with a budget of 690 million pesos and 20 months of execution.
Rafaela has the largest sewage treatment plant in the province and this work is undertaken to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the establishment of said system in the city.
The project plans to execute a fourth treatment module to enable sewer service coverage to 36,000 neighbors and thus reach 100 percent of the population in the future, after the execution of new sewer networks.
The works will have two simultaneous fronts. On the one hand, modifications to existing facilities, which include repowering of the forklift entry and bypass stations to the loading chamber, as well as improvements in the pre-treatment of liquids in the gate systems and other facilities.

while the set of works to be carried out include the construction of a new sand trap for the entry of liquids into the plant, two internal pumping stations for the circulation of liquids and mud, a reinforced concrete primary sedimentation tank 26 meters in diameter and 2.5 meters high, a trickling bed (high-rate biological filter with plastic filler) 25.5 meters in diameter and 6.5 meters high, a secondary settler -also made of reinforced concrete- 28 meters in diameter and three meters high, a digester, new drying areas for biomud dehydration -which will double the existing capacity- and finally a contact chamber for disinfection of treated liquids prior to its final disposition.
The overturning will be as it currently happens, to the South Channel of storm drains of the city that later reach the Las Prusianas stream, Cululú stream and finally the Salado river.
In addition, all the necessary complementary installations and the circuits for electrical installations and panel modification will be executed, together with the remote management devices and automatisms for the operation of the system. |
