The Duqm Refinery is being constructed at the Special Economic Zone of Duqm, South East Coast of Oman
The Douglas OHI team that has worked at the Duqm Refinery project since 2018 has successfully achieved 13 million safe working hours without Lost-time Injury.
The team covers multiple scopes of work such as earthworks and civil, EPC building, precast concrete pipe racks and buildings, u/g pipework, and mechanical installations. The milestone achievement is a testament to the team’s commitment and dedication to safety and health.
The Duqm Refinery is being constructed at the Special Economic Zone of Duqm (SEZD), South East Coast of Oman in Duqm, Al Wusta region of Oman. This project is a Joint Venture (JV) between OQ, owned by the Government of the Sultanate of Oman and Kuwait Petroleum International (KPI), owned by the Government of Kuwait.
The project is in its final stages, with 93.67% completed. Once the refinery fully operates, it will have the capacity to produce 230,000 BPD to become the largest oil refinery in Oman.
As an appreciation and support from Douglas OHI’s management, general manager, Michael Hall, gives his message to the team, expressing his delight and encouraging others to follow the same practices and achieve more goals.
He said: “Achieving 13 million man-hours is no mean feat, and huge credit must go to all Douglas OHI team members working at Duqm Refinery site. A special mention should go to Mr Rathish (Senior Project Manager) and Mr Badisha (H&S Project Lead) for their unwavering commitment to ensuring health and safety remain the utmost priority throughout the project delivery.”
