Work Detail Maruti Suzuki India (MSIL), the Indian arm of Suzuki Motor Corporation, Japan, will launch its first electric vehicle (EV) in India in FY24 a year ahead of schedule, with further scaling-up through the introduction of six EV models by FY30. The sport utility vehicle (SUV)-battery EV planned for launch in FY24 was showcased at the Auto Expo 2023 where MSIL unveiled the concept electric SUV eVX, which is powered by a 60 kWh battery pack. This along with the roll-out of the six new models will help to advance the companys presence in the EVs, hybrid vehicles and internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles category to eventually comprise 15 percent, 25 percent and 60 percent, respectively, of its total production by FY30. Suzuki Motor Corporation, Japan, through MSIL will support the use of CNG, biogas, and ethanol mixed fuel battery in its EVs and carbon-neutral internal combustion engine vehicles, while pursuing its aim to achieve carbon neutrality in India by 2070.
