In the second half of December, the Dominican National Energy Commission (CNE) granted the final concession to four companies for the installation of as many solar parks, which together will mean a contribution of 251.4 MW of installed capacity to the energy matrix. from the country. In 2022, the concessions for photovoltaic projects totaled more than 645 MW. The first of these was granted on December 19 to the company Ecoener Fotovoltaica Dominicana for the construction of the Cumayasa II solar park, to be located in the Cumayasa section, Villa Hermosa municipality, in the La Romana province, which will have a nominal capacity of 30 MW and peak capacity of 36,007 MWp. Two days later it was the turn of the company Eterra Grupo Econergetico del Caribe and the 11.4 MW Lucila photovoltaic project in the municipality of Nizao, Peravia province. On December 22, the CNE granted the definitive concession for the 100 MW Mirasol solar park, in the municipality of San Antonio de Guerra, to AES Dominicana Renewable Energy. Finally, three days before the end of the year, the same thing happened with the 110 MW Coastal Solar project in the province of San Pedro de Macorís, at the hands of the company Coastal Petroleum Dominicana. On this last opportunity, the executive director of the CNE, Edward Veras, explained that it was the 24th definitive concession granted so far this year, for more than 645 MW in total. In July, Spains Energía Renovable BAS obtained the agreement to build the 50 MW Washington Capital Solar Park 3 plant . At the beginning of November it was the turn of the 50 MW Cumayasa I solar park , to the company EFD Ecoener Fotovoltaica Dominicana; and in the middle of the same month the same was done for the 50 MW Zonaxol photovoltaic plant , which will work on the roofs of the companies of the Corporation of the Industrial Free Zone of the city of Santiago, capital of the country. In mid-December, the CNE signed two definitive concession contracts with the Electricity Generating Company (EGE Haina) and AES Dominicana for the 90 MW Esperanza and 70 MW Peravia Solar I photovoltaic plants, respectively. |
