Facing the summer season, the Municipality of Paso de la Patria is working to alleviate the lack of water. With the help of ministries of the Government of Corrientes, they build boreholes with chlorinated water at two points in the city. This week they also put out to tender sewerage works and a treatment plant.
The most visited tourist town in Corrientes is preparing to receive thousands of tourists from the country this summer and, according to Mayor Guillermo Osnaghi told El Litoral, "water is a great theme of the summer season." As he indicated, the number of people who visit the commune and load pools exceed the daily approach and that is why there is usually low pressure.
“Today Covesa (Neighborhood Sanitation Commission) is expanding a module of 100 cubic meters. It contracted with its own resources and two new drillings are about to be done with the Ministry of Production at two points in Paso de la Patria, where the network is,” he mentioned.
The official explained that it will be to inject chlorinated water. “Basically water suitable for consumption that is injected into the network. It is to improve the lack of water,” said Osnaghi. "I think that if everything is finished by the summer it will relieve us, because really in Paso de la Patria they continue to build pools, houses and other things," he added. The mayor also pointed out the importance of "recommending those who make pools that they drill their holes to relieve this and fill their pool," appealing to the collaboration of neighbors and people who decide to build their weekend houses in the commune.
