Work Detail Mainstream Renewable Power Corporation and its Vietnamese partner - AIT Group, have successfully installed a LiDAR wind measuring station for Ben Tre offshore wind power pr?ect with a capacity of 500 MW. LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) is the most advanced telemetry system today, used in offshore wind power projects for establishing wind maps and providing reliable data for determining the potential electricity output of an area. The LiDAR system at the Ben Tre offshore wind power project is the most offshore wind measuring station in Vietnam, installed on a fixed floating platform in 40 km from the Ben Tre provincial coast with a deep water level of 25 meters. The station will continuously collect and transmit the wind data through satellite for all 18 months. After completing the mine clearance work and geological survey of the seabed, the successful installation of the LiDAR system is an important step forward in this project. The Ben Tre offshore wind power project with an expected capacity of 500 MW, a total investment level of 1.4 billion US$ expects to be finished in 2026. The successful installation of the wind measuring station in time and achieving safety standards will help the relevant stakeholders to rapidly speed up the progress of the next development steps of this project.
