The work corresponding to the Highway on National Route No. 11 continues to advance at a good pace, which includes the duplication and paving of the road, this is in the section that goes from the Rotonda de la Virgen del Carmen to the intersection with National Route 81.

In statements collected by AGENFOR, the general administrator of the Provincial Road Directorate (DPV), engineer Javier Caffa, stressed that said work is essential since it will enable "a notable improvement in road safety and fluidity in traffic, this artery being an international passageway that goes to the Republic of Paraguay."
At the same time, it will provide accessibility to all the neighborhoods of Jurisdiction Five towards the center of the capital city.
When inspecting how the works continue, he indicated: "So much progress is being made with the execution of soil movement with all the river drainages in such a way that the affectation is minimal and, in circumstances of rainfall, the drainage is done without problems."
And he explained that currently "in the ground movement stage, the execution of the embankment layers with special compaction on two different fronts is found: one that goes between the Rotonda de la Virgen del Carmen with the Avenida Los Constituyentes roundabout, and the another located in the Namqom neighborhood, where the construction of an embankment with special compaction and that of the different river drainage conduits is also being carried out.
The official also noted that “it is a fundamental help that it is not raining, because that allows us to work in this area of ??the Formosa stream, where the waters are generally low at this time of year. That is why the machines are concentrated there », he added.
And he specified that this stage of the work corresponds to what is known as "the foundation of a construction, hence the fundamentals of doing it well", because at the same time he stressed that "it will be the base of the embankment for the future Highway".
«This includes the paved road parallel to the existing one, which will have two traffic lanes, an exclusive lane for motor vehicles. At the same time, also in the area of ??the bridges it will have a pedestrian area, "he explained to the Agency.
It is for this reason that "special compaction equipment with great mobilization of machinery is used."
Likewise, this work plans "everything that is urban drainage in order to optimize these almost seven kilometers in length," he detailed.
Said work has an execution period of 24 months that "is estimated to be completed by May 2024."
On the other hand, he pointed out that "the previous tasks for piloting the bridges must also be taken into account and as they progress, new stages will be incorporated according to the work plan."
In summary, to conclude, he said that it is a road work that is part of a set of works in the field of public works in the province, among which are also, for example, the elevated bridge at the intersection of the Avenidas Néstor Kirchner and Circunvalación, and the section between Mansilla and Tatané of the RN 11 motorway.
