While work progresses on the stretch between the towns of Todd and Fontezuela, Vialidad put out to tender the new access distributor called «Juan Anchorena». The opening of envelopes will be on the 16th of next month and the start of the tasks will have to be immediate. The recent authorization of the section that connects Arrecifes with Capitan Sarmiento by highway No. 8 shows a clear progress of the works. And, at the same time, it generates a lot of expectations about the only sector that remains to join the new one, between Todd and Fontezuela. Once this stage is completed (which is not visible from the current route No. 8), the dream of traveling from Pergamino to Buenos Aires along a two-lane road will be a reality. Together with the completion of this section, a distributor or descent will be built that will lead to the town of Urquiza. In the middle of next month this particular work will be awarded. «Pergaminenses who use this route are informed that they are less and less lacking to have a highway; the transformation of the road corridor has made very significant progress and the execution of the works in the remaining places show a permanent rhythm to meet the agreed deadlines, ”they explained to the newspaper from National Roads. In this sense, they indicated that section 4, which extends for 25.6 kilometers from Capitan Sarmiento to Arrecifes is enabled to circulate; while the tasks in the area called 6B are carried out normally between the vicinity of Maguire and the town of Fontezuela, which are around 15 kilometers away. When will it be finished? According to the data provided by Vialidad, this section that remains to complete the highway has 47.71 percent of physical progress. And the estimated date of completion and enabling the vehicles to circulate is January 2023. The National Roads area acknowledged that the reconversion of route No. 8 into a highway radically improved road safety by reducing the probability of head-on collisions in the places where the works are completed. At the same time, greater traffic fluidity was achieved, allowing cargo and passenger transport costs to be reduced, and communication between the provinces of Buenos Aires, Santa Fe, Córdoba and San Luis to be optimized. The interest of this organization is to conclude it at the beginning of next year. And in the note received by LA OPINION they insist that this highway, once fully enabled, will represent one of the vital corridors for our country because it unites key points of the economy and various tourist cities. In the province of Buenos Aires they maintain that this route is used by between 3,500 and 24,000 users per day; and is part of the six radial highways, along with national routes No. 3, 7, 5, 205 and highway No. 9. «The work will promote the circulation of industrial, commercial cargo, long-distance buses and private vehicles throughout the province”, they explained on Wednesday when confirming that there is less and less to finish the project. Descent in Urquiza After the request made by the residents of the town of Urquiza, Vialidad was able to incorporate a distributor into the project that would allow a direct descent from the highway to this town. And on May 16, at noon, the construction of this new sector will be awarded through a public tender that has been open since the 1st of this month. According to the data provided, the budget for these works is around 500 million pesos and includes different works to make it a safe descent for those who use it.
