This is the first part of a large-scale property that the head city of the Caseros department will have. With an approximate cost of 600 million pesos and an execution period of 450 days.
The long-awaited construction of the new building of the Faculty of Veterinary Sciences begins to crystallize in the city of Casilda. According to estimates, the first section of the work would be completed by September of next year. “Two building modules that involve 3,200 covered square meters are going to be built. There the needs of the chairs will be met, there will be spaces for common classrooms and laboratories. Later, a second stage is planned, meeting the same needs, but with a third building module where a research and development center in Veterinary Sciences will be built. Then, the third stage will have building modules that will be affected by the administrative headquarters and the graduate school. In total there are six modules, two administrative and four academic”, said Mariano Garate, dean of the faculty,
Meanwhile, the first stage of the work was awarded to the company Dinale SA, for an amount of almost 600 million pesos provided by the national government. “We estimate that it could be completed by September 2023, which coincides with the 50th anniversary of the faculty. It will be a moment of celebration and great responsibility because it implies new challenges for our institution”, closed the dean.
Also, the vice-dean Danilo Renzi, assured that "it was essential to think about the construction of a new headquarters with more space and that it was designed for the dictation of the race".
“Until now we have always been teaching classes in spaces that had never been designed for the Veterinary Medicine career. It is not only a matter of responding to current needs, but also of thinking for the coming decades”, said Renzi.
Subsequently, it will be determined in what amount the other two stages will be tendered. In principle, the call for tenders for the second stage would be for the beginning of next year.
The faculty has been operational since 1973, but as of 1976 it began to teach its classes at the facilities of the General San Martín Agrotechnical School. Currently the race is still taking place in the same place. For this reason, one of the main concerns that arose throughout the teaching staff was based on having a property that can be in accordance with the specific needs for the dictation of the career. |
