The Provincial Government postponed until August 24, the tender that was to be held tomorrow, Wednesday, for the sewage network and treatment plant in the town of Alta Italia.
The work is financed by the National Government, through the National Entity of Water Sanitation Works. The reason for the postponement lies in the "economic instability that the country is going through," according to reports.
The works fall under the Federal Water and Sanitation Plan and had an official budget, at February 2022 values, of $525,051,032.38 and an execution period of 540 calendar days, but those numbers today with the complex economic situation of the country were put on hold.
According to official information, the reasons for the postponement are based on the complex economic situation that the country is going through. This was confirmed from APA to the companies that should pass the tenders, they are not certain about what will be budgeted and request extensions until the economic direction is prosecuted.
Currently, the sewage effluents generated in Alta Italia are discharged into the subsoil through individual treatment and final disposal systems. These systems are made up of septic tanks and soaking wells or filtering trenches that dispose of the effluent directly on the ground.
Works to be done
The sanitation works projected for the town are made up of the network of sewage collectors installed by sidewalk, with their corresponding home connections and manholes, pumping stations with their respective discharge pipes, treatment plant and discharge works towards the body final disposition.
In this stage, a network of sewage collectors will be executed as planned, installing a total of 16,920 meters of PVC pipes with diameters of 160 mm and 200 mm. 695 home connections will be linked to the system.
The collection network will be evacuated through 2 pumping stations, one intermediate and one main. In the latter, three pumping equipment will be installed that will drive the raw sewage liquid, through a 1,776-meter-long, 160-mm-diameter PVC pipe, to the treatment plant that will be located to the southwest of the town.
The treatment plant will consist of an activated sludge system with the capacity to purify a flow of 749 m3/day, equivalent to a population of around 2,058 inhabitants.
With the execution of these works, an adequate treatment and final disposal of household sewage liquids will be achieved, dispensing with individual systems and their consequent environmental and operational drawbacks. This will provide a solution to the problems of contamination and clogging of the subsoil, which are manifested mainly in times of increased rainfall. |
