At the La Salada Renewable Natural Resources Center, in the department of Antioquía, Colombia, a solar plant with a capacity of 52.3 kW has been put into operation.
It is one of the headquarters of the National Apprenticeship Service (SENA), located in the municipality of Caldas, in the northwest of the country, which brings together around 500 apprentices and administrative staff. As explained, the system is made up of 96 panels, whose energy production allows avoiding the annual emission of more than 17 tons of CO2.
The estimated investment is 385 million Colombian pesos (around 90 thousand dollars). Among others, training is given there in livestock, in agricultural and agro-industrial arts, in addition to having a laboratory of technological services for food analysis, and physicochemical and microbiological in water and soil matrices.
Also, closely linked to the area in which it is located, it certifies skills for the preparation of special coffees and their cupping.
Last week it was learned of the start-up of a photovoltaic solar plant on the roof of the SENA regional headquarters in the department of Casanare, in the capital city of the department, Yopal, with an installed capacity of more than 126 kW , which allows to cover about 35% of the energy consumption of the training center.
SENA is a public educational establishment that offers free training with technical, technological and complementary programs. In addition to granting certifications in job skills, it finances small businesses with seed capital. |
