Two vans adapted with a photovoltaic system and storage travel the country offering open-air film screenings for all audiences. Its promoter also proposes debates on social and environmental issues.
Launched in 2013, CineSolar has already offered thousands of sessions in which it uses two adapted vans that have photovoltaic panels on their roofs, together with the energy conversion and storage system, which allows 20 hours of autonomy. The vehicles also transport 110 chairs and stools for the public and the entire sound and projection system of the cinema.
The social aspect is not minor, since in addition to bringing the seventh art closer to remote communities with restricted access to culture, it allows opening a window of dissemination on how photovoltaics works and its possibilities.
“The film sessions are artistic activities with a language that dialogues in a playful way with the inhabitants of the communities, families and children, putting them in contact with the issues of sustainability and renewable energies, as well as with art and culture”, highlights Cynthia Alário, coordinator and creator of Cinesolar.
The sessions contemplate the various audiences that come, generally free of charge and sponsored by the different municipalities, in fact, there are special sessions dedicated to children. The activities include workshops that integrate art, technology and sustainability, and spread sustainable practices for daily life, from the separation of garbage to the reuse of recyclable materials. |
