After summoning the call for tenders for the beaconing works, Aeropuertos Argentina 2000 launched a new tender for the expansion of the Santiago Germanó terminal for 177 million pesos. This is the second stage of the works that will open its envelopes with offers in the coming month of August. In this way, two of the three planned stages would be in the bidding process, leaving the improvements to the runway for the end. The tender called Maintenance Infrastructure and Support Services, San Rafael Airport, Mendoza Province has an investment of 177,008,030.18 and the envelopes will be opened on August 1. It should be noted that this is one of the most important tasks planned in the improvements to the Santiago Germanó, since they include the expansion of the terminal that will go from 850 m² to almost 1,850 m², generating larger and more comfortable spaces to provide the service for departure and passenger arrivals. THE BEACONS The other work tendered for the airport is the New Beaconing System - Installation and Control System which foresees an investment of $206,959,570.42. The work has a new envelope opening date. Although it was expected to do so for the month of July, the proposals will be opened on Monday, August 29 at 10:30 in the morning. THE MASTER PLAN The master plan for the comprehensive remodeling and renovation of the Santiago Germanó airport includes several stages, with investments of more than 2 billion pesos. One of them, which points to the possibility of receiving night flights, is the new high-density beacon system, which includes the expansion and renovation of the platform and service road. In the architectural part is the expansion of the terminal, to improve the capacity and level of passenger services with new technology and baggage handling, offices, deposits, ramp services, among others. Finally, for the runway and allowing the arrival of larger planes, the friction conditions will be improved. The entire surface will be milled and the flexible pavement completely recomposed, which will allow its useful life to be extended between 10 and 15 years. Undoubtedly, this is a fundamental step to improve the connectivity of San Rafael and try to promote it in the tourism sector and also from business, opening new routes and generating links with other parts of the country. The works of the Santiago Germanó Airport have been a pending debt for years and a more than imperative need for the development of San Rafael, so it is essential that they can be completed in the short term.
