The provincial government, through the president of Aguas Santafesinas, Hugo Morzán, announced this Wednesday in Rosario, the launch of the tender for the extension works of the Gran Rosario Aqueduct, which will provide a comprehensive solution for the supply of drinking water to more than half a million inhabitants of Rosario and neighboring cities.
The work, whose bids will be opened on June 7, consists of the laying of 12 kilometers of pipes along Circunvalación Avenue, between the start of the Santa Fe highway and the southwestern area. The construction of a tank with a capacity of ten million liters in the United Provinces and Gaucho Rivero and a reinforcement pipe for the West zone is also planned, with a total budget of more than 3,700 million pesos, contributed by the National State through the Ente National Water Sanitation Works (Enohsa).
Accompanied by the Vice President of Water, Marisa Gallina; and the directors Juan Manuel Costantini and Alfredo Menna, Morzán stressed that "we are very happy to carry out this new tender, with a large-scale investment that complements the works already started in the Gran Rosario Aqueduct water treatment plant and that consolidate the entire system . In addition, in the next few days we will call for a new tender to lay the branches to Ybarlucea and Funes”.
He added that “from the first moment it is a work that was put in first consideration by the management of Omar Perotti to settle a historical debt with the city of Rosario and neighboring towns. The objective is to guarantee in the coming months the sufficient quantity and quality of drinking water for more than 500,000 residents.
DETAILS OF THE WORK
Indeed, the work aims to improve the water supply to the west of Rosarios Circunvalación avenue between national route 34 to the north and Uriburu avenue to the south, in addition to allowing new network expansions in areas currently not served. In other words, it will directly benefit Fisherton, Antártida Argentina, Tango and Godoy neighborhoods, among others.
The project includes the laying of a ductile iron pipe between 800 and 900 millimeters in diameter and 12 kilometers long to carry the water produced in the one located in Granadero Baigorria along Circunvalación Avenue, from Salvat Street to a cistern in Uriburu and Gaucho Rivero street, with a capacity of 10 million liters. From there, the stored water will be distributed through a pumping station through a 400-millimeter-diameter pipe that will connect with the existing network at the intersection of Provincias Unidas and Seguí.
On the other hand, a 500 mm branch will be executed. in diameter and parallel to the north collector of the Rosario-Córdoba highway, between Av. Circunvalación and calle 1625. From this main branch, two pipes will be laid north along Wilde and Carlos Gardel streets, which must connect to the existing network at along Calle Calasanz.
WATER TREATMENT PLANT
Meanwhile, work has begun on the expansion of the water treatment plant located in Granadero Baigorria, which will double its production capacity, bringing it to 11,500 million liters per hour, thus feeding the extension of the aqueduct that is axis of the indicated tender. In this case, the investment by the national State amounts to about 2,000 million pesos.
