A key drainage work began for the Acería neighborhood

Drainage work at the Steelworks
With 10% progress, the Municipality is executing a complementary pluvial drainage work on Viñas Street, between Matheu and Larrea, within the Flores Basin. The tasks, which began a few days ago by the company Mundo Construcciones SA, contemplate an investment of $13,315,225.57 and an execution period of two months.
It is important to mention that these works are complementary to those of paving and storm drains that are being carried out on Beruti Street, between Arzeno and Camino Viejo, and that they are almost completed. The set of works is of great importance for the residents of the area because it improves their quality of life, since it is a direct communication channel between Blas Parera Avenue and several neighborhoods in the northwest of the city.
In order to complete this entire drainage system, these tasks are carried out on Calle Viñas, which include the placement of a 0.80-meter-diameter rainwater drainage pipe between Matheu and Larrea, along 300 meters. In this way, it will be connected to the north with a section of pipe executed between Beruti and Matheu streets, to discharge, to the south, the Larrea collector.
The project foresees the catchment of the gutter of all the cross streets in the section between Beruti and Larrea streets, avoiding the recurrent flooding that occurs in the area.
More solutions
This Tuesday, municipal officials observed the progress of the work. Within this framework, the Secretary of Infrastructure and Water Management, Silvina Serra, indicated that "the main need of the neighborhood before the works was to pave Beruti Street, a very important connectivity route for the Acería, Los Troncos and surrounding neighborhoods. ”. However, she mentioned that "the corresponding drainage should be done on the new street and that is what we did and are doing."
Likewise, it is necessary to mention the situation of Matheu Street, between Viñas and Beck Bernard, which has articulated pavement and gutter cordon without adequate storm drainage. This derives in constant accumulations of water in said sector causing impassability after each rain and directly affecting the pavement. The project foresees the execution of two storm drains in Matheu, in order to ensure the correct drainage of said street. |
