The Pampean governments winery and grape processing plant will be located in Villa Casa de Piedra and its construction will cost $1,029 million.
At the headquarters of Provincial Roads of La Pampa, the public tender to build the winery building and vine processing plant in Villa Casa de Piedra, which has an official budget updated to last February of $1,029,023,140, 37.
The 2,200 square meters of the complex will be located in the north of Villa Casa de Piedra, the youngest town in La Pampa, on the edge of Provincial Route No. 34, in a flat sector at the top of the fence, taking advantage of the topography of the place overlooking the lake. The Minister of Works and Public Services, Julio Rojo, led the opening of the envelopes, accompanied by the Undersecretary of the area, Alfredo Intronati, and the Director of Public Works, Sergio Melián.
Rojo, in dialogue with the Provincial News Agency, specified that this tender is very significant for the growth of the Province, «a work that corresponds to the productive area is being tendered. In the area of ??Villa Casa de Piedra, since the work began there and then the expansion in the production area, which is another of the fundamental axes that this undertaking carries”.
The first wine born in Santa Fe will be made with Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon vines.
He stressed that "the Province made investments through the Colorado River Provincial Entity, where other State agencies also intervened to put 10,000 hectares in conditions in order to develop a productive, that generates a source of work and a place of growth of its own, which will give the Province a possibility of important and atypical growth, for what is the secondary activity that in this case will be the elaboration of wines».
Then, he added that the building "will house all the activity of making a raw material such as grapes. We have within the riverside area, in Casa de Piedra, in Gobernador Duval and in part of 25 de Mayo, which with the contribution of the Colorado River allows us this type of activity. The climate, soil and sanitary conditions aroused the interest of some important companies from the surrounding provinces, which began to invest. The Province expanded the irrigation area and is working on new projects to have other intake works and be able to respond to the needs and requirements of each of these firms that are producers of quality grapes."
From the production “the cycle of what is being produced in other places today would be closed, to be able to develop the entire process in the province of La Pampa, which will allow a finished product to be produced that will have a denomination of origin such as Pampas wines. There will also be the possibility of growth with a product that identifies us”.
Rojo affirmed that this construction is top-of-the-line, «with imported materials in enclosures, also traditional construction. Wine activity, an attractive market for La Pampa

The success in the development of the production area is no longer a novelty for the Province and, in this regard, the minister cited as an example of the productive "explosion" the decision of the Catena Zapata company to request an increase in the number of hectares to expand its productive capacity, as well as the intention of foreign companies to take advantage of the weather conditions in the area to promote wine activity, "There are businessmen who come from Mendoza attracted by what is happening in La Pampa in terms of the successful reception that pampas wines are having in international markets, now La Pampa will be ready to close the cycle with the production of wines in the plantation area itself«.
Temporary Union of Companies UTE: how will the work of the warehouse and processing plant be?
The tender included the offer of a Transitory Union of Companies (UTE) made up of Ecop Construcciones SRL and IACO Construcciones SA, for the sum of $1,218,038,202.36; which represents an increase of 28.70% over the official budget. The works will be carried out in 450 consecutive days.
Fernando Peirone, civil engineer and representative of the UTE, referred to the challenge presented by the work in question. «It is very important for the Province and for us, we were very hopeful. It is a very complete construction document, with 2,200 square meters of construction under the steel framing system, metal structure, concrete, among others », he indicated.
In relation to the only offer by the construction companies, Peirone was surprised, "we arrived thinking that there were going to be several," he said.
In reference to the characteristics of the work to be carried out for the production of wines, the representative pointed out that it is “imported equipment, that is why it is done in two parts, on the one hand, in pesos and on the other in dollars. We have suppliers of imported equipment, but with local labor. The start of work depends on the award of work and it is estimated that it will generate a workforce of between 40 and 50 people », he concluded.
Two floors will be built, with two clearly differentiated entrances, one main for the general public and those who decide to visit the winery and the complex, consisting of an access hall, staircase and elevator, and a service access for all staff. .
On the ground floor, the high-tech grape unloading and processing area will be developed, with its technical support, cooling, fermentation, laboratory and a large barrel room. On the upper floor, a sector for tasting with views of the lake and a living room for visitors, plus the administrative and management area.
Differentiated vehicular accesses for service and for the public that allow the tour of the entire plant.
The complex is completed with a house for the manager. The exterior spaces are resolved with a vegetal cover, sprinkler irrigation and planting of native species.
The construction system proposed for the materialization is mixed, it combines a support structure (foundations) of reinforced concrete and a dry construction system type steel framing for the rest of the building.
