The head of the Entre Ríos District of National Roads, Daniel Koch, detailed the works that are being carried out on section IV of highway 18. The aim is to solve the most important potholes that the route presents.
"Section IV, which runs from Route 14 to the Sandoval stream, is the responsibility of the joint venture made up of Pietroboni SA - Panedile Argentina SA - Luis Losi SA," the official began by pointing out.
He commented that “they are carrying out patching work; which are borne by the firm since the National Highway Administration has not yet received the work». He stressed that "the section has presented various drawbacks."
Problems
"The work was left lying and exhibited for four years," he recalled. In his opinion, "these are the costs that are paid when there is no continuity in the works and a government decides to stop them."
The works are concentrated between kilometers 198 and 204 of this national route. "In that section we had landslides, major potholes, leaks and problems at the base," he explained.
As he explained, "if you go through it today, you find a pothole every 4 or 5 meters."
Deadlines
Finally – and consulted about the deadlines for the tasks – Koch pointed out that "the company is in a hurry than us because all these jobs are paid for by them."
"They need to work quickly to get rid of this problem, taking into account that they are throwing around 180 to 200 tons per week and today they are in the order of six thousand tons," said the official. |
