US data center infrastructure provider HostDime has installed a solar plant at its data center in João Pessoa, Brazil. The installation of 5.9 MW with Tier III certification has required an investment of US$ 1.17 million photovoltaic solar energy in 1.17 million dollars in a rural area of ??the municipality of Pilar in Paraíba. For the first phase of development, more than 2,000 photovoltaic modules have been installed in 12,000 square meters on a five-hectare plot of land acquired by HostDime in northern Brazil. With this project, the company intends to cover all current demand for its data center and plans to expand by 30 percent by 2022. HostDime currently operates two data centers in Brazil, the other one is located in São Paulo. It owns and operates data centers in the US, India, Mexico, and Brazil, and leases space in third-party facilities in Colombia, Hong Kong, and the UK.
