This measure makes it possible to extend until April 8 the possibility for PMGDs to submit their declaration processing under construction, which is practically equivalent to guaranteeing their inclusion in the transitory regime of DS88.
The Chilean Ministry of Energy established a modification in Decree 88/2019 of small-scale generation means (Small means of distributed generation or PMGD, up to 9,000 kW), published yesterday by the Official Gazette.
Its modification sets April 8 (compared to March 14) as the maximum term for the correct entry of applications for declarations under construction.
As of this date, the countrys National Energy Commission (CNE) will have a period of 6 months to review the information provided by the developers and will approve the declaration under construction to those who manage to comply with the provisions of the Decree. 88/2019 within that period.
“The objective is to allow the procedures that must be carried out for the review of all the background information to have the necessary time and that they be done correctly and with the slack that is required, providing certainty that all the projects will be reviewed correctly and specifically”, indicated the Minister of Energy Claudio Huepe.
In addition, the head of the portfolio highlighted that "with this, what we are doing is allowing all distributed generation projects that contribute to the system to enter now and, as a background issue, we are generating a process of transparency in the public sector in the which the State plays its role”.
Once this period has elapsed, the projects will no longer access the stabilized energy remuneration price, but rather the hourly rate, which particularly affects the value of energy in daylight hours. In this way, projects that wish to pour into the network in non-solar hours must incorporate batteries. |
