The Aerocompact device is claimed as an ideal solution for the deployment of solar panels in the architecture of Mediterranean roofs.
Austrian mounting system provider Aerocompact has launched a quick mounting hook for photovoltaic systems on pitched roofs.
The new device is called the CompactPITCH XT35-VLOW and is claimed to be an ideal solution for Mediterranean roof architecture, which is often built with red tiles.
According to the manufacturer, the base plate of the device is only 20 mm thick, which helps the aluminum hook to be used optimally with flat battens, for example with monk and nun or Portuguese roof tiles.
"Installers save a lot of time because the new hook, unlike standard roof hooks for pitched roofs, has two positions in the vertical plane, instead of the usual plates with serrations and screws," the company said in a statement. "All installers have to do is push the hook from the side into the guides on the base plate, and theyre done."
The new product is offered both with fixing screws, for simultaneous positioning and mounting, and with positioning screws, for decentralized base plates or concrete anchors. "The base plate is attached with wood screws," he further explains. “The hook is then fine-tuned by moving it horizontally to one of two guide levels. Only one wood screw is needed for final fixing.
According to the company, the base plate can also be installed in a decentralized manner, with a cantilevered base plate that is fixed to the substructure with wood screws. “The roof hook is fixed decentrally by means of a hexagonal socket and a threaded pin, which is held in the base plate by tightening it. The base plate can also be easily anchored in the concrete,” says Aerocompact CTO Christian Ganahl.
If used in combination with the Aerocompact X40-X50 mounting rail, the hook can also allow panels to be deployed in landscape mode.
