The work includes a section of 13 kilometers, between National Route 11 and Provincial Route 50-s; and will complete the improvement of the 23.6-kilometre transverse route, between Arocena and Gálvez, in the department of San Jerónimo.
The Ministry of Infrastructure, Public Services and Habitat, through the Provincial Directorate of Roads, opened the envelopes with the economic offers for the resurfacing of the 13-kilometer section of Provincial Route No. 80, between National Routes No. 11 and Provincial No. 50-s, access to the town of San Eugenio.
The works include patching, reconstruction and resurfacing work given that the existing road has a great deterioration both in the bearing layer and in the concrete slabs that are located below.
In this regard, the Minister of Social Development, Danilo Capitani, pointed out that it is “one of the most requested and expected works, because traffic has tripled” and generated “the consequent deterioration of the route. Today, this work is a sponsoring fact for Gálvez and for the region, a debt that is settled after a long time”.
In his turn, the administrator of Provincial Roads, Oscar Ceschi, stated that “what matters are the facts, and this is reflected in the works that we are carrying out throughout the province. Today we put out to tender this section to continue what we are already paving on Route 80”; and he added that "last year we invested more than 5,100 million pesos only in resurfacing and potholes, they are historical figures for this type of work."
“Obviously it is more pleasant to do new works, but for us it is also important to do the repairs, and this year we have allocated more than 10,000 million pesos for resurfacing and potholes, with the commitment to work throughout the provincial territory for a better connectivity and road safety, and to strengthen the roads and production routes”, concluded Ceschi.
Finally, the mayor of Gálvez, Mario Fissore, pointed out that “for us it is a transcendental day, we thank Governor Omar Perotti and the entire Ministry team, because they have kept their word. A work that had been deteriorating a lot due to cargo transport, and that in the course of a year and a half we have this transversal route completely repaved is an enormous satisfaction”.
OFFERS
The works have an official budget of $822,241,699.37 and a term of 8 months. For its execution, 5 bidders were presented: Obring SA – Laromet SAUT quoted for $1,064,978,596.97; Nestor Julio Guerechet SA, for $1,350,096,632.56; Vial Agro SA, for $1,200,115,313.24; Rovial SA, for $1,311,577,490.59; and Ponce Construcciones SRL, for $1,194,379,171.58.
THE WORKS
Two more compromised sections were determined where the excavation of the existing material will be carried out to give rise to a recycled base with cement, with the reuse of the crushed material, resting on a layer of lime soil and applying an asphalt base on top. These tasks will be between kilometers 2.5 and 4.8; and 9,9 and 13 (cross with RP N°50-s).
On the other hand, both between National Route No. 11 and the access to the Rosario – Santa Fe Highway, as well as between kilometers 4.8 and 9.9; milling of the bearing layer will be carried out and the slabs where a deep patch will be executed will be evaluated. In this way, there will be an asphalt base with RAP 7 centimeters thick, a sand-asphalt base of 2 centimeters and an upper layer of polymer-modified asphalt concrete, another 4 centimeters. The work, which has a work term of 8 months, also involves the replacement of luminaires and the maintenance of columns in the links with National Route No. 11 and Provincial Highway AP-01.
INTEGRAL RECONSTRUCTION OF THE TRANSVERSE ROUTE
The new works to be carried out are complementary to those developed in the segment between Provincial Route No. 50-s and the town of Gálvez, where the repaving of a 10,600-meter stretch is being carried out with a provincial investment of $405,607,377.10 with tasks in charge of the temporary union of companies between Obring SA, Edeca SA and Laromet SA
Provincial Route No. 80 represents the departments main exit to the AP-01 highway and the port area located in the departments of San Lorenzo and Rosario.
It should be noted that in the department, in the last months of 2021, the paving of 13.7 kilometers of Provincial Route No. 10, between Gálvez and Bernardo de Irigoyen, was completed, with a provincial investment that reached 1,100 million pesos; while on the same layout, in October, the resurfacing of the 17-kilometer section between López - Santa Clara de Buena Vista (south of the Las Colonias department) was tendered with a budget of $903,161,921.50.
