Work Detail |
The Juan Vucetich Police School was created on June 27, 1941, beginning the courses on August 16 of the same year with a force of 60 cadets at the headquarters of the current Womens Police Station in the city of La Plata.
Towards 1944 the School increased the number of cadets for which the physical space that it occupied until that moment was reduced for the development of the task of police training. Shortly after, it was transferred to the Railway Workshops of the Tolosa station, near the city of La Plata, already having a population of 150 cadets.
By 1947, the officers school still did not have a name and it is for this reason and with the intention of paying a well-deserved tribute to the illustrious scholar who perfected the Argentine dactyloscopic system, that in an act held on December 17 of the same year, the Chief of Police baptized her with the name of Juan Vucetich.
In 1959, it moved definitively to the facilities of what was the San Juan de Pereyra ranch with its director, Commissioner Jorge Vicente Schoo, and a group of cadets who immediately accommodated rooms that functioned as classrooms, while they lived in tents. in front of the farmhouse.
After their study hours, these cadets built the internal roads and repaired the sheds that are now the cadet stables.
Even today, this promotion, number 22, is still affectionately called "The Flintstones".
Currently, female and male cadets are studying, with the main objective of training to be future police officers capable of acting with professional criteria, deep adherence to the law and ethical commitment, respecting human rights.
