The Municipality announced when the construction of the new Quilmes Sur stop of the Roca Railway and the two under tracks that will improve connectivity between the east and west of the city will begin. Work on the new railway station between Quilmes and Ezpeleta will begin this year. Two of the most important public works projects in Quilmes are linked to the railway infrastructure. It is about the construction of the new Roca Railway station and the two underpasses that will not only improve the public transport service in the city but also contribute to traffic and connectivity. The new railway stop, called Quilmes Sur, will be located between Andrade and Lugones streets (on the north side of the tracks) and Doctor Agote Güiraldes (on the south side); about two kilometers south of the Quilmes station and one and a half from the Ezpeleta station. It will put an end to the distance of 4.5 kilometers between both stations and will benefit 17,450 daily users, they detailed from the national government. They also pointed out that it will grant accessibility to the Municipal Sports Center and the Centennial Stadium of the Quilmes club. This initiative, promoted by the National Ministry of Transportation, will require an investment of $730 million. There will also be three commercial offices on Centenario Avenue to promote local development, LED lighting, new public restrooms, security checkpoint, audio and video system and bicycle storage.
