The bridge that joins the two parts of the town is under repair. The works began with the gas bypass that the company IPE SA is doing, so that later the people of Provincial Roads can work more calmly, said Mayor Darío James. “On this first day of work there was no damage to traffic because it was not necessary to cut anything. As explained by Daniel Momo, director of municipal Public Works, the work of the Bridge is a recomposition of the reinforcement of the beams that was lost due to oxidation and a subsequent repair of the drains. After the preliminary works and the bypass of the gas pipe that will require two weeks, in which there will be partial cuts of the Bridge, with the beginning of the work on the beams, a total cut will be carried out during the following two weeks. And, ultimately, there will be partial outages during the repair of the bridge drains and the reconnection of services. The need to repair the Gaiman Bridge responds to the fact that it is more than 90 years old (it was inaugurated on October 30, 1931), and due to wear and tear due to lack of maintenance. “When we took over the management we made the commitment, and we began to do so, to seek a solution, at least a palliative one, so that it does not continue to deteriorate.
