The implementation of this system will provide sustainable energy to the community of the Irrigated Fruit Pole of São João, in the municipality of Porto Nacional.
The Brazilian state of Tocantins announces that it received this week the equipment for the projected photovoltaic installation in the city of Porto Nacional, 15 km from Palmas.
With the deployment of the solar energy system, the Secretary of State for Infrastructure, Cities and Housing (Seinf) of the State seeks to supply with clean energy the electricity consumption of the pumping and pressurizing stations, which are part of the Fruit Growing Pole of São João irrigation.
The equipment for the implementation of the photovoltaic power generation plant was acquired through the Integrated Project for Sustainable Regional Development (PDRIS), for an amount of 15 million reais. Installation of the photovoltaic plant is expected to begin next March.
The São João Irrigation Project is located in the municipality of Porto Nacional, 25 km from Palmas. The project covers an area of ??3,654 hectares with irrigation infrastructure that has the production of fruits and vegetables, distributed in 326 lots for small producers and 37 business lots.
The State Government explains that the initiative aims to promote the economic development of irrigation projects and the reduction of public consumption itself, “with a potential to generate 3,125 MW of energy. Considering the average electricity consumption of the irrigation project with its equipment, around 414,000 kWh/month, the estimated average generation for each station will be 5,344 MWh/year, generating annual savings of R$ 4 to 5 million, considering the resources already invested. |
