If approved, the Tirana Oeste Photovoltaic Solar Park will have a Battery Electric Storage System (BESS) of 159 MW nominal power. It will be located in Tarapacá and would be the companys first project in the country.
FRV Services Chile SpA, a company belonging to Fotowatio (FRV), has submitted to the Chilean Environmental Assessment Service (SEA) the Environmental Impact Study of the Tirana Oeste Photovoltaic Solar Park project, which is planned in Tarapacá. According to the companys web portal, it would be the companys first project in Chile.
The plant foresees an investment of 303 million dollars, and a nominal power of 336 MW, as well as a Battery Electric Storage System (BESS) of 159 MW of nominal power. The company announced in late 2019 that it planned to develop energy storage projects around the world.
According to the SEA, the project includes the installation of 668,466 photovoltaic modules, 1,680 inverters with a capacity of 200 kW each, 56 transformation centers, a 220kV high-voltage line (LAT) 4.9 km long, which will have 16 self-supporting reticulated metallic structures, a 19.1 km long underground low voltage network and a 26.2 km long 33 kV underground medium voltage network, as well as a 33/220 kV step-up substation with a transformer of power of 380 MVA with oil and hydraulic works.
FRV participated in the last tender in Chile, held in August. |
