The groundbreaking of the $42 million Coca-Cola Bottling Facility expansion took place recently at the company’s Baton Rouge campus in Louisiana. Coca-Cola Bottling Company United Inc., has plans of expanding and improving on its existing warehouse in Baton Rouge campus, to further bolster its distribution operations.
This Coca-Cola Bottling Facility expansion will add up to 120,000 square feet warehousing space which will bring the total size of the facility to 900,000 square feet. The expansion project also covers the installation of a new cutting-edge Vertique case picking system, which will make use of the latest beverage industry technology to provide associates with more convenient, efficient and organized operations at the facility.

Other machinery and equipment will also be installed to ensure increased capacity and productivity, such as a new generator, storage shelves, recycling equipment, forklifts, conveyors, power switches, gears, lighting and fire protection systems. Site preparations and construction work on the Coca-Cola Bottling Facility at the Baton Rouge campus, are expected to begin by the first quarter of 2022, with the completion date scheduled for August 2023.
Coca-Cola Bottling Facility expansion bring 15 new direct jobs
At the groundbreaking event, the State officials mentioned that this $42 million Coca-Cola Bottling Facility expansion was the perfect example of a Building Back Better (BBB) development, which would help Louisiana’s economy recover fully from the economic effects of the pandemic and Hurricane Ida. Governor, John Bel Edwards, also pointed out that the expansion was a lot more than just increasing the warehousing space. He said the project offered several benefits, which include the addition of 15 direct new jobs, more innovation, safety, efficiency, and so much more.
The Louisiana division director of Coca-Cola United, Scott McCallister said the company was very excited about expanding this Coca-Cola Bottling Facility in Louisiana. McCallister pointed out that the entire space had been well planned and designed for efficient use. He also said that this expansion would show Coca-Cola’s commitment to the state of Louisiana and their optimism for this market. |
