Work Detail |
Limerick City and County Council is progressing the development of the N/M20 Cork to Limerick motorway PPP in partnership with Cork County Council, Cork City Council, Transport Infrastructure Ireland, and the Department of Transport.
The €850-million road project involves the upgrading of the existing 80-km road that connects Cork and Limerick, located in south-west Ireland.
The N/M20 Cork to Limerick project is currently at the Option Selection stage. The Option Selection process has considered and assessed a range of feasible options within the study area under the three headings – engineering, environment, and economy. A number of road-based and rail-based options have been shortlisted to proceed further in the Option Selection process along with an active travel strategy.
As part of this process, Limerick City and County Council is seeking feedback from the public on the shortlisted options and active travel strategy developed for the project. Due to COVID-19, Limerick City and County Council is unable to hold a public consultation event in-person within the study area. Instead, an online public consultation platform has been developed on the project website www.corklimerick.ie which will go live from 12 pm on Thursday 19th of November 2020.
In March 2019, TII (Transport Infrastructure Ireland) appointed Barry Transportation (formerly known as Halcrow Barry) to deliver the design and planning consultancy services for the project. |
