Work Detail | Three days into classes at Youngstown State, and road work along the main routes through campus is well underway. The city is in the first stages of a massive streetscaping project on Wick and Lincoln avenues around campus. Utilties are being moved below ground, new sidewalks are being put in and the road is will be completely repaved. Youngstown Public Works Director Charles Shasho says the road work is on schedule. “We’re about 80 percent complete with the storm sewer. From that point, the contractor will begin removing sidewalk and curb. We’ll get the electrical conduit installed for the lighting, then we will start putting the sidewalk in and move forward in our paving.” There’s still at least five more months to go before the project should be complete. |
