From the Association of Industrial Metalworkers of Mendoza, Asinmet, and based on our responsibility to defend the work of the metal-mechanic, metallurgical and electromechanical companies of the province, we celebrate the progress of the tender for the mega hydroelectric work Portezuelo del Viento.
Considering the opening requested by the Argentine Chamber of Construction in the search to give more civil competition to the bidding process and given the origin of the funds destined to the work, from Asinmet we will be inflexible when it comes to enforcing the local purchase, mainly of the metallurgical SMEs of Mendoza.
We understand that the damage caused to the Mendoza industry by the Industrial Promotion regime in neighboring provinces, must be remedied with the participation of our entire industry in the completion of the work. This is why we request the Government of Mendoza to guarantee this process.
The Mendoza metallurgical industry will be able to supply all the hydrodynamic components, structures, crane bridges, transformers, aggregate processing plants, tanks, lighting, guardrail, lighting towers, high voltage towers, camps, electromechanical installations, carpentry and special services.
Our sector has 15 thousand workers in more than 500 SMEs with the capacity to process more than 10 thousand tons of steel, which we estimate should be processed on site, and professionally accompany the five years of execution that the work will require.
Likewise, we are still engaged in the ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 quality certification processes, in order to comply with the quality standards required in works of this magnitude.
In the context of the difficult situation of local industry and employment, we assume our full commitment and once again ask our authorities for the greatest responsibility to defend Mendoza, its companies and its workers. |
