The La Puna and Altiplano I plants, located in the Los Andes department, near the town of Olacapato, will be connected to the Argentine Interconnection System. With a total of 200 MW of power, they constitute the second largest solar park in the country, and have 554,580 monocrystalline modules, with a single axis solar tracker system. The Puna Solar project was awarded in Round 1 of the RenovAr program ; and Altiplano Solar was awarded in the one held in November 2017 . Both plants will involve an investment of close to 300 million dollars and, according to the planning of Neoen, the French company that was awarded the projects, this year the commercial operation will begin. The start of works began in November 2018, and in February 2019 the main teams arrived.
