With the idea of ??responding to environmental demands, Aguas del Colorado began price contest No. 3/2020, for the construction of the Mud Treatment Plant in the water purification plant located on the Pampas margin of the Colorado River, in front of the Rio Negro region of Pichi Mahuida.
The construction of the sludge treatment plant was approved by the COIRCO Executive Committee in September 2019. It has an execution period of 10 months, with its initiation estimated in April of this year.
Its purpose is to extract the mud from the discharges of the sewage drainage systems so as not to produce its discharge to the Colorado River, thus respecting the provincial regulations for the control of discharges, with regard to the suspended solid and aluminum parameters. The maximum discharge limit to be met for the aluminum parameter in the discharge to the Colorado River is 2.00 mg / l.
The “Treatment Chain” is made up of:
a) Collection of streams with low aluminum content (from the regeneration of softeners) for direct disposal to the Colorado River.
b) Collection of drains with a high aluminum content (discharge of decanters and filters) to separate the sludge.
c) Collection of sludge through geotextile membranes or geo-driers (special bags designed for these purposes) with evacuation of filtered water from the bags.
d) Discharge to the river of the treated effluents together with those of low aluminum content.
e) Final destination of the mud accumulated in the bags by means of their transfer to storage areas (Sanitary Landfill technique). It will allow the mud to be confined and stored safely and enable its use in a reuse process. |
