Melbourne Water has awarded a $130m (A$189m) contract extension for a period of three years to Wood, which will continue providing maintenance work for wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations, and sewage trunk systems.
Wood comes with over two decades of experience in the water and wastewater sector in Australia.
It provides maintenance services to boost local infrastructure in order to meet the demands of the water network.
For Wood, this is the second renewal of the contract.
Under the contract, Wood will deliver mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, process control, and civil maintenance services, with a local team of around 250 people on several sites from the Thomson Reservoir in the east to the Western Treatment Plant near Melbourne.
Wood’s Operations Services business in Australia president Ralph Ellis said: “We are delighted to continue our support of Melbourne Water’s critical treatment works and systems.

Wood secured its first contract with Melbourne Water in 2012, and a renewal contract in 2016. |
