"Victor" for "money": will be canceled if the value of the offers submitted is not reduced
The Stamp and Scales Authority - affiliated to the Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade - postponed the decision on the tender for the barcode system, which was launched at the end of 2019, until Monday, instead of Sunday.
It is noteworthy that this postponement is the second in a row after the Authority postponed the decision for the first time last Wednesday, to take place on Sunday.
Major General Abdullah Montaser, head of the Stamp and Balances Authority, revealed in special statements to Al-Mal that the reason for the delay was due to the high value of the financial offers submitted by the two competing companies in the tender, saying: They were given a 24-hour deadline ending at 12 noon today, to reduce the value Price for their shows.
He stressed that in the event that the prices submitted by the two companies are not reduced, the "barcode" tender will be canceled.
The tender, which was issued by the Authority last December for the work of the barcode system for goldsmiths, had been submitted by 5 companies, 3 of which were rejected, and two companies qualified technically: "Excel" and "Intercom Enterprise".
Montaser pointed out that the postponement of the announcement of the decision in the first time was to give the two companies an opportunity to present an official letter on the number of artifacts that will be stamped through the barcode.
He explained that the Authority wants to stamp 50,000 gold works in one day.
The Stamp and Scales Department had previously clarified that the target barcode system to be applied guarantees protection and safety of the product from fraud and manipulation, as well as the control of shots.
Montaser emphasized that the application of the barcode will create a major qualitative shift in which international standards are applied, and the use of modern technology to stamp jewelry and jewelry, which works to protect and control the gold market.
The head of the Stamp and Scales Department explained that the “barcode” includes writing the data of the workshop in which it was manufactured, as it contains the history of the industry, the caliber, and the piece number, so that it is serial, and that the dealer or the manufacturer is not allowed to use the same number until after 100 years have passed.
And Montaser pointed out that the busy must be stamped and registered with the Authority, and any manufactures that do not meet these standards are immediately exported from the market by the regulatory authorities |
