(Infobae) .- NGO project, organization, development, education and research PODER presented to the UN a case of the new dam project developed by Grupo México in Sonora that could potentially become an environmental risk to the Bacanuchi community.
PODER met with the UN Working Group on Human Rights and Businesses to present the case and detail the risks it has detected for the inhabitants of the area. In an interview with Proceso, members of the organization pointed out that despite the spill that occurred in August 2014, when the Sonora and Bacanuchi rivers were contaminated with 40mn liters of acidulated copper sulfate, Grupo México is building the new dam with total impunity. |
