Work Detail UK-based technology and network services company telent has secured a contract from Transport for London (TfL) to manage communications assets. The assets include public address speakers, customer help points, information displays and CCTV cameras inside and on buildings. The seven-year contract will commence in January 2020 and combines maintenance services, system design and upgrade works across a broad range of sites. These include every London Underground stations, depots and operational buildings, TfL office buildings, bus stations, river piers, cycle hire stations, and the London Transport museum. The contract also includes managing of security and access control systems, surrounding over a quarter of a million assets across TfL’s estate, including at more than 270 underground stations and depots and over 80 bus stations and stands. Telent transport managing director Steve Dalton said: “We are proud to be one of Transport for London’s suppliers and look forward to expanding the scope of our previous contract with them. “Using innovative approaches and with our experienced team, we continue to build on our market-leading whole-life approach, ensuring that we constantly deliver best value for both TfL and Londoners.” In November this year, telent had renewed its CCTV maintenance contract with TfL for another three years. As per the contract, telent will continue to offer maintenance of over 800 CCTV cameras installed on the streets and associated Operator Interfaces in TfL’s control centre and its offices. The company will also reinstate, upgrade and put in place CCTV equipment across every 33 London Boroughs on TfL’s road network, which will act as the eyes on the street for TfL. For over more than a decade, telent has kept positive performance levels while ensuring the least disruption to services across London. Telent clients comprise of Highways England, Transport for London, Kent County Council, West Sussex County Council, Gloucestershire County Council, Network Rail, BAE Systems, BT, Interoute, London Ambulance Service, Merseyside Fire & Rescue, RNLI, Maritime Coast Guard Agency, Metropolitan Police, Sky, and Virgin Media.
