The state government has cancelled the tender of M/s KP Group 9, the company providing manpower for security and housekeeping services at Kalpana Chawla Government Medical College (KCGMC). The decision has been taken by the Additional Chief Secretary, Medical Education and Research, on a proposal by the KCGMC Director.
“A fresh tender for manpower services will be floated immediately. As a stopgap arrangement, M/s Radha Krishan Coop L/C Society Limited, Kurukshetra, which is providing mechanised services to the college, has been directed to take over manpower services at the same or lesser rate,” read the order.
Himanshu Madaan, Director, KCGMC, had recently sent a proposal to the higher authorities for cancellation of tender as the company was not paying salaries to staff for the last several months.
Besides several other irregularities, the company sacked several contractual employees without giving any specific reason. Madaan refused to comment on tender cancellation, saying it could be made only after reading the letter.
Some BJP leaders had recently alleged corruption in recruitment of contractual staff in the KCGMC. Jagmohan Anand, district BJP chief, confirmed tender cancellation and said nobody would be spared if found guilty. —TNS |
