Work Detail | The Cheyenne Regional Airport Board on Thursday awarded the contract to build part of the airport’s new terminal project to Knife River Corp. Knife River was the apparent low bidder when bids were opened Thursday. The project includes building an aircraft apron, a concrete pad for the new passenger terminal, a parking lot, installing utilities and grading work. Knife River’s bid was nearly $5.5 million. It was one of five companies that bid on the project. The airport board voted to award the project to Knife River, but the Federal Aviation Administration and the Wyoming Department of Transportation must agree before it moves ahead. The bid amount is about $100,000 below the engineer’s estimate for this part of the project, Tim Barth, director of aviation at the airport said. The bid includes building essentially everything but the new passenger terminal. Bids to build the terminal likely will open in January. |
