The government of Bihar has planned to construct a transport complex in Phulwarisharif area near Patna airport.
The complex will house offices of the Bihar State Road Transport Corporation (BSRTC) and its regional office, district transport office, bus depot, driving-learning testing centre, residential colony for staff and a fuel station.
The estimated cost of the project is around Rs 164.3 crore. It will be developed over 28 acre land. The construction work has been awarded to the Bihar State Building Construction Corporation (BSBCCL) of the state building construction department.
The BSRTC building will be G+four-storey buildings whereas the six-block residential colonies will have G+five-storey buildings. The DTO building will be G+three while the driving testing centre and filing station will have only ground floor offices. The other utility structures will include central workshop (for maintenance, cleaning and servicing of buses), covered parking bays for buses, fuel stations including that of compressed natural gas (CNG).
The project will be complete in next 1.5 years from the day the work commences. The buildings will be constructed within permissible height as the new complex is near airport. The Airports Authority of India (AAI), Patna has given clearance for all the buildings.
The campus will have rainwater harvesting, water treatment plant, solar panels and sewer treatment plant. A high-speed Wi-Fi zone for internet access, LCD screens, fire detection and fighting system will be there. The entire premises will be under CCTV surveillance. |
