Practical example Circular procurement: The province of South Holland opts for recycled office furniture

The province of South Holland has tendered its office furniture in a circular fashion. One of the most important principles in the new contract between Gispen and the province is to reuse existing furniture as much as possible.
The framework agreement for the supply of furniture to the province of South Holland expired at the beginning of 2018. It was decided to tender the office furniture in a circular fashion. The Facility Affairs Department saw this tender as an excellent opportunity to contribute to the circular objectives of the province. The tender was thoroughly prepared, a total of one year was allocated for the entire tender process. This took into account the start of the renovation of the Provinciehuis - a lot of existing furniture would be released that could be reused ( refurbish , repurpose , repair).
Specials
The circular office furniture is contracted out in Europe. Regular office furniture and special furniture, or specials, fall within the scope of the contract. With specials, all the furniture is meant for special workplace forms such as lounge sofas, seats, consultations. Working conditions furniture is not covered by the contract. |
