29 August 2019, Manama, Bahrain: HE Bassem Bin Yaqoub Al Hamar, Minister of Housing, Chairman of the Tender Board and Chairman of the Housing Bank, chaired the weekly meeting of the Tender Board and the second weekly tender opening session at the Tender Board, the independent regulator charged with overseeing the practices Government Tenders and Auctions. A total of 104 tenders were opened for 19 tenders from 10 bidders. The opening session included five tenders funded by the Saudi Fund for Development .
During the session, the Tender Board opened three tenders and two tenders to the Ministry of Health, including two grants from the Saudi Fund for Development , the first tender for the supply and installation of dialysis units and other equipment, and six technical tenders were received. The second tender was for the supply and installation of computers and accessories and the requirements of network infrastructure and information technology at the dialysis center in Riffa area, where one technical tender was received. The third tender for the Ministry of Health was to provide security guard services for 5 health sites, including Batelco Health Center, Muharraq Environmental Health Center, Mohammed Bin Jassim Kanoo Health Center, Sheikh Sabah Al Salem Al Sabah Health Center, and Hamad Medical City Center. For three years, the number of bids reached fourteen.

The agenda of the opening committee included a tender for the Ministry of Works, Municipalities and Urban Planning financed by the Saudi Fund for Development on the appointment of a consultant office for the design and supervision of the Sports City sewage station and other sewage works and related works for all the specific components of the project as described in the tender documents. Tenders were opened for the Ministry of Information Affairs to implement a project to upgrade and modernize the production and news broadcasting system. One financial tender of BD 873,444,910 was received.
Two tenders for the Electricity and Water Authority, funded by the Saudi Development Fund, were also opened, one of which was to supply water to the Eastern Housing Project, and four financial tenders were opened, with the highest tender amounting to BD 8,731,137,675, while the lowest tender was BD 6,466,497,350. The second tender relates to the supply of water to the Southern City (Khalifa City) housing project and five financial tenders were opened.The highest tender amounted to BD 17,834,139.002, while the lowest tender amounted to BD 11,812,179,225.
As for the procurement of materials and equipment for the Central Stores Department of the Electricity and Water Authority, four tenders were opened. The first tender was to purchase smart meters for use by the Electricity Distribution Department. Four tenders were received for this tender, with the highest financial tender amounting to BD 249,993,000. The lowest tender amounted to BD 180,999,000. In addition to a tender for the same entity to buy street lighting lamps for use by the Electricity Distribution Department, where twelve tenders were received, the highest tender amounted to BD 1,163,775,000, and the lowest tender amounted to BD 578,523.750. A third tender for the purchase of a data recorder was opened for use by the Water Distribution Department. Two tenders were received, the highest tender amounting to BD 288,750,000 and the lowest tender amounting to BD 175,000,000.
As for the education sector, the committee has opened tenders to provide printing, packaging and shipping services for all national examination papers, in addition to all documents that do not contain the confidentiality of the National Examinations Department at the Education and Training Quality Authority in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Three bids were received, with the highest bid amounting to BD 104,671,029 and the lowest bid amounting to BD 95,750,000.
The opening committee included two tenders for the Tamkeen Labor Fund. The first tender was on the development of an electronic answering system that will be integrated with Tamkeens basic system to support the digital transformation of Tamkeens services. Twenty-one tenders were received and the highest tender amounted to KD 471,880,000. The lowest tender amounted to BD 18,000,000. The second tender was to provide travel solutions to all Tamkeen employees through arranging trips, accommodation and other travel related services.
In the oil sector, the Tender Opening Committee of the Council has opened tenders for Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco) for the repair and renovation of existing buildings and infrastructure of existing buildings, in addition to construction works for new buildings in Awali City and the mountain areas, and various daily maintenance works including emergency repairs and maintenance. And urgent. Six tenders were received for this tender, with the highest tender amounting to BD 13,126,109,550 and the lowest tender amounting to BD 2,630,860,687.
Finally, the Committee opened two tenders for the aviation sector. The first tender was for Bahrain Airport Company to contract with a highly qualified company to carry out the inspection and testing of ground leakage protection devices and residual current devices at Bahrain International Airport. Six bids were received, with the highest bid amounting to BD 84,939,500, while the lowest bid was BD 14,899,400. The second tender was for Gulf Air for ground handling at Indira Gandhi airport in Delhi. Three bids were received.
The tender process was attended by a number of representatives of the bidders and the companies participating in the tenders. All tenders submitted for tenders will be subject to technical and financial evaluation and the best and lowest priced bid will be awarded.
