Adjusted tributaries and new pools have a favorable effect on the water balance of the 12-hectare floodplain. “The troughs are two meters wide and 0.7 meters deep. The pools collect water from the drainage pipe. Six flow-throughs are directly linked to the trough, the remaining three non-flow-throughs are excavated separately, ” said Ivana Kucerová, Head of the Ohre River Basin Administration of Lesy CR.
No concrete was used during the construction, the quarry stone only covers the inlets and spillways of the ground pools, the fortification of the ground channels in the stressed sections and at the entry of new channels into the Mlýnský stream. Wetlands have been preserved in the place. They arise from the leakage of water from the rings at underground drainages - functional and clogged. Some are associated with shallow troughs.
"Especially protected animals, birds, amphibians, reptiles and fish, as well as specially protected plants, have found refuge in pools and wetlands," Ivana Kucerová added. The company drew a subsidy from the Operational Program Environment for the construction. |
