Assistant Undersecretary for Technical Services at the Ministry of Works, Municipal Affairs and Urban Planning Eng. Ibrahim Hassan Al-Hawaj revealed that the ministry has submitted 150 internal tender during the first half of 2019 to 10 departments at a total cost of 552,723 dinars. (Five hundred and fifty-two thousand seven hundred and twenty-three dinars).
He added that the Department of Operation and Maintenance of Sewerage has led the administrations in the number of tenders, where 55 tenders were submitted for a value of 252.009 dinars (two hundred and fifty-two thousand and nine dinars), followed by the Department of Building Maintenance where 47 bids were submitted at a cost of 285.229 dinars (two hundred and eighty-five thousand two hundred and twenty-nine dinars) , Followed by the management of projects and maintenance of roads, which put forward 30 tenders worth 181.614 dinars (one hundred and eighty-one thousand six hundred and fourteen dinars).
The Department of Materials Engineering submitted 6 tenders, while the Department of Planning and Design of Roads 4 tenders, and the departments of engineering materials and information technology 3 tenders for each department, and the management of planning and projects of sewage and communication management and cost management have put one tender for each department.
The Assistant Undersecretary for Technical Services explained that the internal tenders of the Ministry are represented in the tenders, whose estimated cost is between JD 3 thousand and JD 25,000, where no amounts will be counted when submitting bids that do not exceed 10,000 dinars, while the amount of 15 Bahraini Dinars Submission of tenders exceeding 10 thousand dinars and do not exceed 25 thousand dinars.
Ibrahim Al-Hawaj stressed the Ministrys continuous efforts to increase the level of services and facilitate the procedures used to shorten the time and effort of the auditors through the electronic services launched by the Ministry, including the internal tender service, which allows companies to search and present details of internal tenders, or purchase copies of new tender documents, The service has the option of obtaining a copy of the previously purchased documents. This is done by completing the form prepared on the Ministrys website www.works.gov.bh or via Bahrain.bh .
The Assistant Undersecretary for Technical Services said that this service enables companies to follow up the new tenders offered electronically on a daily basis and to submit them or find out their details, even during the official holidays.
