Procurement News Notice

PNN 2247
Work Detail A ruptured water main and a resulting geyser made a mess of streets and the neighborhood near an elementary school on Thursday morning.

According to our sister station WOWT in Omaha, an eight-inch pipe broke, resulting in water being spewed high up in the air.

Repair crews from MUD are on the scene and the water has been turned off on Western Avenue from 74th to 76th Streets. Crews are working to repair the broken pipe.

Hillside Elementary nearby does not have water service due to the water main break. Bottled water was brought in for students. Classes and lunch service are planned to continue as normal. Westside did not want to cancel classes due to the strain it would put on parents.

Repairs are estimated to be completed by 2 pm on Thursday afternoon.
